The fall of Malfora

The world of Malfora is an ancient land shaped by kings, mages, and quiet heroism, where stone keeps rise above rolling fields and old roads remember the tread of countless generations. For centuries, Malfora has endured through balance—between crown and commoner, steel and sorcery, faith and doubt. Yet now, that balance falters.

A darkness is descending, not in fire or thunder, but in whispers and shadow. The days grow shorter, as though the sun itself hesitates to rise. Crops fail in soil once rich and forgiving, forests thin and pale, and a bitter chill lingers even in seasons that should be warm. Livestock sicken. Rivers run low. Hope fades quietly.

No banners herald this threat, no enemy marches in open war. The darkness creeps, unseen and unnamed, pressing inward from the edges of the world—and perhaps from within it. Scholars argue, priests pray, rulers delay. But the land knows the truth: Malfora is dying by degrees.

And so the question remains, spoken in taverns and dreams alike—when the light finally falters, who will stand against the encroaching night?
